Drag Chain Conveyor

Pallet & Container Conveying

Sanitary drag chain conveyors are typically used for conveying pallets or containers with an irregular bottom board configuration.  Drag chain conveyors typically have 2 or 3 strands of roller chain that ride in a carryway, but they are not sanitary. Shown above is a multiple strand plastic modular belt conveyor that serves the same purpose and is built utilizing more sanitary material and design principles.

Drag chain conveyors are not designed for accumulation and should be zoned by means of separate drives where product will accumulate.

Benefits of Chain Conveyors:

  • Heavy-Duty Transport: Efficiently handles heavy and irregular loads.
  • Reliable Performance: Robust construction ensures consistent and dependable operation.
  • Versatile Applications: Adaptable to various industries and material handling needs.
  • Sanitary Alternatives: Plastic modular belt conveyors offer hygienic solutions.
  • Zoned Control: Separate drives prevent product accumulation.

Applications of Chain Conveyors:

  • Pallet handling in warehouses and distribution centers.
  • Container transport in manufacturing and shipping facilities.
  • Heavy-duty material handling in industrial settings.
  • Automotive and manufacturing plants.
  • Any application requiring robust and reliable transport of heavy or irregular loads.

When seeking a powerful and reliable material handling solution for heavy or irregular loads, chain conveyors offer a significant advantage. While traditional drag chain conveyors may have sanitary limitations, plastic modular belt alternatives provide hygienic options. Their robust construction and zoned control ensure efficient and dependable product transport.

Key Features:

Sanitary drag chain conveyors can be built with either roller chain or plastic chains.  It will not be a true sanitary design, but can be designed for washdown. By nature, the plastic modular belt solution is a cleaner design.

Options:

  • A heavy duty, but cleaner solution in a pallet or tote handling environment.
