This is an hourly position with benefits, health insurance, paid vacation, ESOP, bonus program, and 401K.

 

Why is This Position Important?

It is important that our Manufacturing Team has good people willing to work hard in a team environment.

The Logistics Laborer is responsible for the pick-up and delivery of materials that are important to our assembly and fabrication process.

We are counting on the Logistics Laborer to keep work on schedule.   This will allow our team to make our commitments to our customers while giving the next processes downstream adequate time to do their jobs.

The Logistics Laborer needs to have open communication to with the Material Handler Team Leader, Logistics, Material Handlers, and Buyers about work status and due dates. Accurate and timely information allow us to manage a dynamic and fast paced business to make sure we meet all our commitments.

The Logistics Laborer will be out of the building visiting different vendors on a regular basis. Our team members need to conduct themselves in a professional and respectful manner not just in the shop with other team members but also with customers and vendors. You are the face of NCC and people will remember that after you have left.

It is very important to realize that in a Project driven company, we run into unexpected technical challenges, changes in schedule and sometimes scope, that will require extreme flexibility, teamwork and creativity to help solve challenges as they develop.

This position reports to the Material Handler Team Leader.

 

Key Roles / Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Package materials for shipments.
  • Build wood skids with the use of power tools.
  • Keep a clean work area.
  • Communicate with the Team Leader to resolve any issues that impact the timing or quality of a product.
  • Fleet ownership – inclusive of ensuring general vehicle maintenance occurs regularly, vehicles are clean and proper gas levels are maintained.
  • Follow good manufacturing practices for safety and ergonomics.
  • As required, support Material Handling Team as well as Manufacturing Teams.
  • Maintain a positive attitude at work and at vendor’s facilities.
  • Share ideas with Team Leader and managers to improve processes.
  • Punctual pick-ups and deliveries of materials in company vehicles.
  • General janitorial and facility maintenance services for the building.

 

Required Skills / Experience:

  • Valid PA driver’s license
  • Ability to use power tools in a safe manner
  • Excellent verbal communication
  • General computer knowledge
  • Good Verbal Communication
  • Manual Dexterity and Must be Able to Lift 50 lbs.
