Side gripper belt conveyors pinch the sides of a product, (typically packaged) no contact on the bottom surface for labeling, printing or inspection. Side gripper / hugger belts can be designed with timing belt conveyors or wedge style chain conveyors. They can also be used as a metering belt to reduce surges in product by breaking up slugs of product.
