Metering systems are designed to create a minimal pitch of product that are being transported in a random pattern. There are numerous ways product can be metered. The most common way is a brake/meter conveyor system (2 conveyors). The Brake conveyor slows product down to the minimum rate possible while the meter conveyor runs at a faster rate (1.5 to 2 times the rate of the brake conveyor) to pull the necessary gap for the downstream equipment.
