Allen Byrd: 20+ Year Veteran Welder and Standout Employee at NCC

Written by Kevin Mauger | Aug 31, 2021 2:30:00 PM

Allen Byrd is our well deserving employee spotlight this month! He has been with the company for over 20 years and counting.  Allen is a highly skilled welder in the Fabrication Department and loves the everyday challenges that come with the job and that no two days are the same.

Being with the company for a significant amount of time, Allen has seen many changes over the years. He says “looking back where we were and where we are now is huge!” He is proud of how the business has grown and happy to be a part of it.

NCC is a standout company for many reasons but Allen says, “Kevin Mauger genuinely has an interest in his employees, he’s not just a boss but a friend.” Allen is proud to work here, in a positive atmosphere and on a hard working team.

Dane Bauer, Allen’s manager says, “Al has been a key player in the FAB department for over 20 years. He has been setting the bar high for sanitary welds and finishes. He is always willing to do whatever is needed to keep jobs on track and inline with the customers expectations. Al is a very skilled and passionate person that I am grateful to have on my team, and here at NCC.”

Allen has worked on many projects, but one he is especially proud of is the spiral conveyors. “We’ve recently launched an entire new business unit, SideDrive Conveyor Co. which offers the most hygienic spiral conveyor design in the world.”

When Allen is not busy welding, you can find him in the outdoors looking for adventure! He enjoys skiing, mountain biking, kayaking, golfing and driving his 62’ Chevy Bel Air. Allen also has two sons (Allen and Tyler) and two grandchildren (Tiana 10, and Nathan 5). With his adrenaline filled spirit we weren’t surprised to hear that when the time is right, his next adventure will be to learn how to fly planes.
